Of course the really big news for moving type and text was the advent of computers and the arrival of graphics packages such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Director and Flash. As computer prices decreased and memory RAM increased, there has been an explosion of typefaces and moving text, some a little gaudy, others classy and witty.

A great favourite, now a screensaver, was the moving computer type associated with the film 'The Matrix' which appeared on the screen of the hero, Neo. It evolves into a cascade of elegant Japanese alphabet characters.
